I am a married mother of two girls, one 18 yrs. old and one turning five. As a Rider University graduate, I've obtained a Teaching Certificate from the Rider Grad-Level Program and will start a second career as a Business Education Teacher in Secondary School (HS). While hoping the outlook for employment as a public school teacher turns positive, I am employed as a teacher at a private Pre-School.
In 2006, I resigned from my previous career to stay home with my (then newborn) daughter Kai. In that position, I was as an account manager for a global electronics contract manufacturer (a corporation that builds products for companies who may design-- but not manufacture-- their own products like IBM, Lucent, Dell, Phillips Medical, Nokia, etc.) My business background provided the foundation for my teaching cert in Business Education.
I am very passionate about learning and believe it's something we should do all of our lives long. I love seeing my pre-schoolers' faces light up when they experience that spark that comes with learning something new. I feel my job is done if I can get them to truly fall in love with learning.
